Sian Phillips is Executive Director of the Cannabis Trades Association, with responsibility for public relations, communications and sector engagement.
She leads Patient Voice, a sector strategy committee focused on ensuring that patient experiences, concerns and perspectives are heard within industry discussions, public policy and wider communications.
Sian has also been actively involved in developing case studies examining harm reduction centres and medical cannabis lounges. This work has explored how carefully designed, well-regulated spaces could reduce harm, protect dignity, improve public safety and provide more appropriate support for people using cannabis.
Her wider work includes communicating complex regulatory and policy issues, challenging stigma and helping organisations develop more informed approaches to cannabis, patients and public health.
At Health for the Future, Sian brings a communications and sector-strategy perspective to the discussion on human rights and harm reduction, informed by practical research, patient experiences and the need for policies that are proportionate, compassionate and grounded in evidence.
