The People Behind the Summit

Health for the Future is a collaborative platform — built by a community of founders, curators, organizers, and partners who share a vision for the future of health.

Þórunn “Tóta” Þórs Jónsdóttir

Founder & Summit Director

Tóta is an Icelandic entrepreneur, activist, educator, and community builder — and the founder of Health for the Future.

For over a decade, she has worked directly with patients living with chronic illness, helping people manage pain and improve their quality of life through hemp and cannabis-based therapies. Her work sits at the intersection of science, sustainability, policy, and deep human care.

She is the co-founder and vice president of Hampfélagið (The Icelandic Hemp Association), and the founder and CEO of Reykjavík Hemp. Through these platforms, she has built international bridges between Iceland and the global cannabis, hemp, wellness, and regenerative industries.

Her research into hemp cultivation in Iceland — three years, 10 hectares — was documented in the film The Green Revolution. She has been recognised by GreenState as one of the global leaders in the cannabis industry, and her work has been featured in Forbes, High Times, Fat Nugs Magazine, and beyond.

What began as Hemp for the Future has grown into something larger — a platform that connects science, policy, patients, sustainability, women’s health, and natural medicine. Health for the Future is the next chapter of that story.
